About Us

   Chris Herrera Founder, COS Inc.

A music lover going back to his earliest memory, Chris is fortunate enough to have surrounded himself with musicians his entire life. He is currently involved in music programs at both St. Vincent de Paul (Phoenix, AZ) and St. Helen (Glendale, AZ). Chris has had his share of success as a drummer and church musician, but he credits his two children who inspired the concept for the Communion of Saints collection. “My wife had found a pair of personalized music CDs with each of the children’s names on the cover. My kids enjoyed the stories and the songs that mentioned their names, but I was drawn to the overall format: music and message. I've always wanted to create a recording, and this format blends the two most important aspects of my surroundings: music and Church".  With a lot of prayer and guidance from friends and family, Chris turned to his longtime friend, Jay Soto, to turn the concept into reality. He and Jay began writing music and lyrics, while sharing the concept with different priests around the valley. It was Fr. Robert Skagen who agreed to lend his spoken word talents to the first CD, and Chris is confident that Father Bob’s outstanding work will inspire many other clergy members to consider participating in future albums within the Communion of Saints collection.

   Jay Soto Producer, COS Inc.

Just like his friend, Chris, Jay has been involved in church music from a very young age. He’s directed music at St. Vincent de Paul (Phoenix, AZ), St. Henry (Buckeye, AZ) and St. Helen (Glendale, AZ). While many parishioners appreciate his powerful voice and masterful piano playing, Jay is known nationally as a Smooth Jazz guitarist with his #2 chart-topping radio single, Slammin’. His attention to detail and ardent desire to only do his best helped create the exceptional music on the Communion of Saints debut album,
Messages of Faith.
